Kleberg County Human Services provides a variety of services designed to assist and improve the quality of life for residents and citizens of Kleberg and Kenedy Counties. Programs, offered on a referral and needs assessment basis, include Senior Citizens Services (meals & nutrition, Social Security/Medicaid/Medicare advocacy), Corpus Christi Medical Transportation (medical transportation), Community Services to Senior Citizens and Economically Disadvantage (weatherization and utility assistance), County Welfare Department/Indigent Care (clothing, medical assistance and emergency aid) and Veteran Affairs. The information below features Paisano Express Rural Transit which offers demand response services to Kleberg and Kenedy Counties.

Services Offered: Demand Responsive Service - wheelchair accessible transportation that has flexible routing and scheduling for curb-to-curb or point-to-point transportation; provided at the user's demand; the same as paratransit.

• Eligibility: Services available to the general public, elderly, and disabled. Transportation provided to day care centers, schools, paying bills, shopping, medical, appointments, work, and job interviews.

  •  All Medicaid clients are referred to Le Fleur, the Medicaid contractor.

• Scheduling Service: Schedule a trip by calling one (1) day in advance; some same day trips may be available – call Paisano Express Rural Transit at 361-595-8576 for more information.

• Service Hours: Monday - Friday  8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Cost of Service:

  • Service within Kingsville city limits: $2.00 per one-way.

  • Service to Ricardo city limits to FM Road 772: $3.00 per one-way.

  • Service to Rivera/Sarita from south of FM 772: $4.00 per one-way.

  • Service to Corpus Christi: $8.50 per one-way.
